Artistry: Holiday Paper Art for Adults (Online Class)

Let’s get festive together in this fun, easy, arts program! A teaching artist will talk with us about the art of cardmaking and collage, showing us some examples and getting our ideas flowing. Then we will use a variety of paper materials to start making our own unique holiday cards, gift tags, and more! Paper is a colorful, tactile, versatile medium and we will fold, cut, glue, and embellish to craft one of a kind pieces that will help us spread cheer this holiday season!

Note- if registration has ended and you would like to see if there's space available or you haven't gotten the WebEx info at leaste 24 hours before the program, please email sbernstein@co.carver.mn.us.

Please have the following materials gathered for class:

  • Cardstock: At least 3-5 pieces, approximately 8.5” x 11” in size.
  • Text paper: At least 3-5 pieces, approximately 8.5” x 11” in size. This can be simple printer paper or something fancier with some color or texture.  Should be easy to fold and write on.
  • Decorative paper: This can be almost anything!  From origami papers to wrapping paper to recycled newspapers - gather a collection of pieces that you find pretty and interesting.
  • Other Collage Supplies: Collage can involve many different materials, not just paper!  Consider finding some fabric scraps, bits of ribbon and twine, interesting twigs, buttons, and whatever strikes your fancy!
  • Markers, Pens, Pencils:  When it comes to embellishment there’s so much to choose from!  Just gather some drawing and writing tools that you like, anything from felt tip pens to neon paint markers!
  • Glue stick. Liquid glue is also an option, just a lot messier!
  • Scotch tape
  • Ruler
  • Scissors

This project was funded (in part or in whole) with money from Minnesota's Art and Cultural Heritage Fund.
